About us
We run various enterprises from Mythe Farm, our home, as you see here on the website. We have a two sons, Olly and Jacob, a sheep dog called Tess, two ducks called Jack and Jill, three chickens called Houdini, Floss and Poppy, a horse called Murphy and about 250 North Country Mule sheep too (not got around to naming them yet!).
In 2005 we took over Joe’s family farm and set up the B&B, opened the cross country course to the public and expanded our outdoor activities business. In the last few years we have planted about 20 acres of trees which are getting quite tall now, and we are currently converting some of the barns into a wedding venue which we hope to complete in summer 2012. It’s seems to be going ok at the moment and a lot of people seem to come back so we can’t be going too far wrong.
In case you were wondering, ‘Mythe’ Farm comes from the old English ‘meeting of the rivers’. The rivers Anker and Sence meet at the foot of the slope in front of the farmhouse where legend has it King Richard III watered his horse before the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, now nicknamed ‘King Dick’s Hole’.

We hope you like our website, have a look at our blog and please feel free to add comments. We think we've got an amazing place here, and are sure you will think so too. We hope to see you soon!
Joseph, Joanna, Olly and Jacob Garland.
