Young and old alike can unwind and feel at one when fishing, away from noise, hustle and bustle. Mythe Farm, reputed to be the last camp of Richard III before the battle (Psychology of a Battle Bosworth 1485, Michael K Jones, 2002), includes stretches of the rivers Sence and Anker which meet at King Dicks’ Hole where the King is said to have watered his horse.
The Sence and Anker differ; The sence is smaller and has a weir near Ratcliffe Bridge and a couple of shallow fords whereas the Anker is wide and deep in places. The rivers host a variety of both game and coarse fish including roach, bream, dace, gudgeon, chub, barbel, trout and greyling and have a number of purpose built pegs along with many natural ones. There is car parking at three locations near the rivers, at Mythe Farm, at Feildon Bridge between Atherstone and Pinwall and at Ratcliffe Bridge between Ratcliffe Culey and Pinwall.
Toilets are available at Mythe Farm. Fishing competitions are allowed if booked in advance.
